Does anybody have any good stories about a great quest for a song that you just HAD to have? I've had a few that took many years to track down. Now we think a search that takes a couple months was a tough one! Anyone remember a time before you could google lyrics and ID a previously unknown track halfway through the song and locate a copy to download with TotallyFuzzy by the time the song is over? (OK, it's usually not quite that easy in most cases). :-)
One that still sticks out for me was my quest for the track Catwalker by the Diodes. I first heard that song on CFNY back in the mid 80's. I was convinced that it was by the Stranglers for some reason, so I picked up their album Feline album first. Over the years of my search I became a big fan of the Stranglers due to various albums I bought hoping that I might find the track that was eluding me (at least that wasn't a bad thing). At some point I caught at least part of the song on a cassette. Eventually in the mid to late 90's I was able to get that track ID's on the spiritofradio.ca site - so that search only took 10 years or so!
The Diodes - Catwalker
I don't know about others, but I can remember buying vinyl, never having heard of a band based on recommendations of a music store clerk. Or how about buying two or three versions of a track before getting the 'right' version!

Thanks for the comment. That's good to hear, I've been hoping for that to be re-released on CD for many years! (since the Tired of Waking Up Tired CD came out and before!) Also, just a note that this is a fan site and is not done by David himself.
I've heard that one before. Action/Reaction was supposed to come out on CD 4 or 5 years ago and it never materialized. I'll believe it when I see it.
Thanks for your post.
I initially heard that Action/Recation was coming out on CD in 2001, so that's now 7 years! Here's hoping this time it will happen - in the meantime, you have Catwalker :-)
