Santana - Samba Pa Ti

Fantastic show - but then all of them are. Was great to hear Icicle Works, Peter Murphy, Magazine and Depeche Mode. Outstanding set.

I can confirm that Santana track, miss parker. Yes, awesome music that David played the last couple of nights.

I'm trying to find info about the Circle Jurks (Jerks?) song A Thrill's. I can't find ANYTHING about this track on the internet ANYWHERE. What LP is this track from? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your comment. The only reason I was able to ID that track was because David himself mentioned that was the band. I am reasonably confident that it's not the California punk band, and I believe that the spelling of their name is correct. I'm guessing they might be Canadian and would likely be fairly recent. It's surprising to find a band that could get a CD into a DJ's hands would not also have some sort of presence on the web (eg. myspace, etc.).

While you're searching, keep an eye out for any information on 'Jagz' another artist David plays that seems to have zero presence on the web.

If I am able to find any more information in the future, I'll update this thread.

I believe Jagz is actually spelled JAGS, with an S and not a Z. I have a 45 copy of the song "Back of My Hand" and it's definately JAGS.

As for Thrill, even allmusic.com doesn't haven anything listed there by this band. Could it actually be Mitch Ryder from his 1983 LP "Never Kick a Sleeping Dog"? That would fit David's time frame for a lot of his music.

I can confirm that it's spelt Jags by this site: http://www.last.fm/music/The+Jags?autostart

Last Picture Show, a song that David plays is on the "Best Of" album located here:

No wonder searching for Jagz got us nowhere!

Thanks for the information, Ken!

Thanks so much for your help in figuring out our Jagz = Jags mystery - who said spelling doesn't count in the computer age!

Here's an even better link for anyone else who's looking for that track:

http://digivinyltal.blogspot.com/2007/06/jags-1979-1981.html

Hopefully we'll be able to return the favour and help sort out this Circle Jurks mystery! I think that might very well be a slight spelling difference as well.

I do always try to confirm titles, etc. to a web search and almost everytime a web search comes up empty, there's something not quite right!

Later,
Ralph

Ken -

David played the cover of A Thrill's A Thrill again in his October 23, 2008 show - I noted some more information on that release that David provided, so have a look at my October 23, 2008 post!

Thanks,
Ralph
