November 6, 2009

Tonight was a special night, indeed. Not only did David put on an exceptional show for the first 4 hours, he ended the night with a nearly-hour-long tribute to Canada's and America's finest military members. He honored the men and women who have given their all, who have served in the past, and those who continue to serve today. As we approach Remembrance Day (Canada) and Veteran's Day (US), be sure to take the time to let our men and women in uniform know that we care.

There are several missing/partially identified songs from tonight's list - again, if anyone can help, it will be greatly appreciated ~ MissP

[Author's note: Ralph came through with Julian Cope and Groundhogs - thank you!]
[Another note: London Ontario Baby helped with "Angels Don't Cry" and "Show and Tell" - thanks again!]

Hi,

"Angels Don't Cry" was by the Psychedelic Furs. I was surprised to hear it because David had just played "Heartbreak Beat" a couple of tracks before that...guess he still had the cd/album cued up. Hadn't heard it in ages and have listened to it a couple of times since Friday because it's kind of a forgotten gem by the Furs.

Also, "Show And Tell" is from the cd "Unexpected Guest At A Cancelled Party" so it's technically "Spoons", not solo Gordon Deppe.

Cheers! (And thanks again for all your hard work on this amazing blog!)
