August 1, 2008

Marsden Planet wasn't able to make it for the show tonight. I am going to put up the preliminary list with the caveat that there are a couple of un-ID'd and partially ID'd songs that I am sure he'll fill in once he's had a chance to listen to the samples.

I have to say that tonight's show was s-s-s-s-s-s-izzlin' *HOT*. As David would say, there wasn't a dry seat in the house.

Thank you, David.

Thanks to both Shuggy and Fan for their valuable input. Don't know how I missed the second Dr. John entry, but it's there now. Also, the Cabaret Voltaire song has eluded me in the past...you would think it would grab hold of me one of these days!

The reason I initially identified "Haunted" as Bauhaus is because David back-announced (or at least I thought he did) the artist as Bauhaus. I already had Love and Rockets identified, but changed it when he came on for the break after the song.

Thanks again to both of you for setting me straight.

Many thanks to Miss Parker for posting this list. I made some minor edits to the last couple lists and added Roxy Music's The Bogus Man to the Aig 1 list based on a sample that Miss Parker sent me.

Could Swing Low Sweet Chariot be the version by Eric Clapton?

Just to be picky, the Jumpin' Jack Flash/Youngblood track is from the George Harrison 'Concert for Bangladesh' album.

Also, if that's the same 'Brother Can You Spare A Dime' track that David plays reasonably regularly - that ID's one that's eluded me for quite some time!

Thanks to everyone for the input!

The Darkroom song is San Paku.
